Design

  • Design for Additive Manufacturing
  • Design optimization/light-weighting
  • Functional design
  • Cost reduction

Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) is the art, science and skill to design for manufacturability using 3D printers. Different from traditional manufacturing, this additive design process empowers engineers to create more intricate shapes and production parts while reducing weight and material consumption. Norm Additive uses state-of-the-art software and tools in engineering, optimization, part consolidation and light-weighting studies

Metal Additive Manufacturing

Using laser powder bed technology

  • Prototype production
  • Low-scale production
  • Serial production

Metal additive manufacturing or metal 3D printing is a type of additive manufacturing that uses a heat source – such as a laser or electron beam – to heat metal in powder or wire form so that it consolidates to form an object. Norm Additive currently utilizes Direct Metal Laser Melting (DMLM) Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) technology via industrial and highly regulated Concept Laser systems to manufacture parts from aluminum alloy and stainless steel parts.

Polymer Additive Manufacturing

Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) technology provided by the HP Company is a production method developed on the formation of a solid model using powdered polymer raw materials with binders in liquid form.

With HP MJF technology, which can produce multiple parts simultaneously in layers, fast, high quality, functional and low cost parts with the best isotropy in its class are produced.

Unlike assisted manufacturing used in other technologies, it can produce parts with complex geometries with high precision without using any support structure. Thanks to this feature, it makes possible to manufacture geometries that cannot be produced by conventional methods and provides design flexibility.
